Our Story

Mahavir Hydraulics Private Limited was founded in Mumbai in 1996 by Ilesh Zaveri, who had been active in the hydraulics trading business since 1985. The company began as a trading enterprise, sourcing and supplying hydraulic components to industrial customers across India.

Over time, MHPL invested in in-house manufacturing capability — a shift that allowed the company to produce components to customer specification and maintain direct quality control. Today, MHPL manufactures hydraulic tube fittings and hose fittings in carbon steel and stainless steel, MS and SS flanges, pipe clamps, tubular components, and OEM assemblies from its facility in Chakan, Pune. All products are manufactured to EN, ISO, DIN, JIS, and ASTM standards.

MHPL holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and is an authorised channel partner for Gandhi Special Tubes — produced in collaboration with Benteler Germany — as well as DOWTY hydraulic pumps and Polyhydron hydraulic valves.

Alongside its core product range, MHPL has built the capacity to fulfil broader project requirements. On complex greenfield and brownfield projects, MHPL consistently meets over 90% of line items — including items outside its standard catalogue, sourced through a network of vetted suppliers that includes brands such as Frenzelit, Unbrako, Hilti, and HYDAC Valves, and extending to industrial electrical materials including wires, cables, and switchgear. This has resulted in established direct, Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply relationships with several large MNCs and public sector undertakings.

MHPL serves customers across industries including steel plants and metal processing, heavy engineering, injection moulding, multiparking, shipbuilding, and oil and gas — with an active export presence across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and beyond. Operations span Mumbai (head office), Chakan and Pune (manufacturing and hose assembly), and warehouse facilities in Bhiwandi and MIDC Bhosari. A new facility in Sanand, Gujarat is currently in development.

Ilesh started as a trading enterprise in 1985 and incorporated Mahavir Hydraulics Private Limited in 1996, building the company from the ground up — from its early trading origins into a technically managed manufacturing enterprise with a presence across international markets. With a strong entrepreneurial mindset, a clear and practical understanding of the hydraulics industry, and an unwavering commitment to long-term growth over short-term gains, Ilesh has been the driving force behind every significant decision in the company's journey. Since incorporation, he has played a central role in strengthening MHPL's foundations — establishing its manufacturing capabilities, its quality systems, and its relationships with customers and partners — positioning the company on a sound and sustainable footing for the next phase of growth.

A technocrat and business leader with a background in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management from the University of Mumbai, Sukumar brings over 38 years of rich experience in senior and top management positions with Fortune 500 companies spanning multiple geographies. His career has given him a broad and grounded perspective across technology, manufacturing operations, and organisational strategy, with a consistent emphasis on quality, process discipline, and operational excellence. At MHPL, Sukumar is at the helm of the company's expansion into Sanand, Gujarat — leading both the establishment of the new facility and its future operations — while contributing to the broader agenda of building an organisation that combines strong fundamentals with forward-thinking innovation, creating lasting value for customers, employees, business partners, and stakeholders.

Siddharth Zaveri

A Chartered Accountant, Siddharth joined MHPL in 2015 as the second generation of the Zaveri family. He leads the company's international business development and export growth, building direct relationships with customers across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and anchoring MHPL's ability to serve customers undertaking complex greenfield and brownfield projects as a reliable, single-source supplier. He is also overlooking the company's manufacturing expansion into Sanand, Gujarat — a project that reflects MHPL's broader ambition to scale its production footprint and deepen its capabilities for the next decade.

Nisarg Zaveri

Nisarg Zaveri

Director

A graduate of Bachelor of Management Studies, Nisarg joined MHPL as the second generation of the Zaveri family, taking ownership of the company's day-to-day commercial operations. He has played a key role in developing several non-core categories into meaningful, standalone revenue streams. His work reflects a practical understanding of where market demand exists and how to build the internal capability to serve it consistently. Nisarg also leads new product and customer development, steadily expanding the range of what MHPL can offer to its growing customer base.
